On Lake Armington celebrating the promise of Spring means ICE OUT CONTEST. People try to guess the exact date and time the ice will leave the lake (and the loons arrive).
An Ice Out Clock is placed out on the frozen lake by stalwart winter residents. Guesses are emailed in and collected. Suspense builds.
Finally, when the ice melts the Ice Out Clock registers the time of Ice Out. Guesses are counted, winners announced. In the summer, prizes go to 3 winners whose guesses come the closest. FUN!

Lake Armington Association (LAA) traditionally hosts one or two gatherings over the summer, including the Annual Meeting, sometimes a morning coffee social or more recently Drinks by the Lake in the late afternoon. Last year of course was the exception with the Covid-19 pandemic.
We look forward to times when we may enjoy getting together again and renew our connections! Hopefully in 2021.
